An interactive round table meeting exclusively for the industries in Kerala with Ms. Jodi McKay was conducted on January 11, 2023, at the Hilton Garden Inn, Trivandrum. The meeting was presided over by P. Rajeev, Hon’ble Minister for Industries, Law, and Coir, Government of Kerala. This interaction primarily focused on the significance of the recent India-Australia Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement, which went into effect on December 29, 2022.
The meeting ended with an assurance of cooperation with Australia in the areas of rubber, Ayurveda, and manufacturing. 50 stakeholders from different sectors, such as rubber, food, electronics, marine, ayurveda, etc., attended the session. Opening remarks and a presentation on "Key Discussion Points" were made by Suman Billa IAS, Principal Secretary, Industries & NORKA, Kerala and S. Harikishore IAS, Managing Director KSIDC & Director of Industries & Commerce, welcomed the gathering.
