Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) is the premier agency of the Government of Kerala, mandated to for industrial and investment promotion in Kerala. Formed in 1961, KSIDC's primary objective was to promote, facilitate and finance large and medium-scale industries and catalyze the development of physical and social infrastructure required for industrial growth in the state.
The Functions of KSIDC
Providing financial support through Term loans and Equity Managing the Industrial Growth Centres and Industrial Parks that provide suitable industrial land with allied infrastructure such as power, water, and common facilities including ETP& STP Investment Facilitation and Nodal Agency of the Government of Kerala for EoDB initiatives, EBRAP, PM Gati Sakthi Processing Incentivising responsible investments for scale-up and growth Encouraging Entrepreneurship through Seed Funds, Scale-up Assistance, WE Finance, etc

RBI Integrated Ombudsman Scheme
Salient Features of RB-IOS, 2021
The Reserve Bank ΓÇô Integrated Ombudsman Scheme (RB-IOS), 2021, launched by the Reserve Bank of India, is a unified framework aimed at enhancing the grievance redressal mechanism for customers of regulated entities, including Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs). The Scheme simplifies, strengthens, and streamlines the process of lodging and resolving customer complaints.
1. Centralized Complaint Management System (CMS)
All customer complaints under the Scheme are handled through a centralized online portal (https://cms.rbi.org.in), making the process efficient, transparent, and trackable.
2. Time-bound Grievance Redressal
If a customer complaint is not resolved by the Regulated Entity within 30 days, the customer is entitled to escalate the matter to the RBI Ombudsman under the Scheme.
3. Automated and Efficient Processing
Complaints received are auto-assigned to the appropriate Ombudsman office based on the regulated entity, ensuring impartiality and faster resolution.
4. Principal Nodal Officer (PNO)
Every NBFC is required to appoint a Principal Nodal to ensure prompt handling of complaints and coordination with the Ombudsman office.
5. Customer Guidance and Transparency
The Corporation is required to:
ΓÇó Display the salient features of the Scheme.
ΓÇó Publish contact details of the Principal Nodal Officer and the RBI Ombudsman.
ΓÇó Clearly inform customers of their right to approach the Ombudsman if grievances are not resolved within 30 days
6. Legal Backing and Enforceability
The decisions made by the RBI Ombudsman under the Scheme are binding on the regulated entities, subject to conditions specified in the Scheme.

Shri. Balagopal Chandrasekhar graduated in economics from Loyola College, Madras University and joined the IAS in 1977. Allotted to Manipur, he worked in the IAS in Manipur and Kerala till 1983 when he resigned to promote a venture to make hi-tech biomedical devices for the first time in the country. Acquiring the knowhow from Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences & Technology, Trivandrum (SCTIMST) and with the support of National Research Development Corporation and KSIDC, he set up his venture near Trivandrum. From those small beginnings, he grew the venture into one of the largest makers of blood bag systems in the world, exporting products to more than 50 countries. In 2012, he sold the company to a leading Japanese maker of medical products, and turned to investing in startups, mentoring entrepreneurs, writing, travel and his many other interests. Balagopal Chandrasekhar was the Chairman of the Board of Federal Bank Ltd. till 28 June 2023 when his term ended. He is on the Governing Body of the Centre for Management Development Trivandrum, Advisory Board of Fourth Wave Foundation, Member of the Board of TIMed Medical Devices Incubator of SCTIMST, and Member, Advisory Board of IIT Palakkad, and Independent Director on the Boards of some leading companies. With his wife Vinita, he set up and runs ANAHA Trust, which funds socially useful programs and projects, in the fields of primary health, primary education, and rural livelihoods. Projects supported by the Trust are located in Kerala and Manipur. Shri.
